Max was great. I received my sailing certification about 10 years ago and since life got in the way I have not had a lot of time to sail. Max was super responsive and flexible and got me in the next day. We did a 2 hour refresher and hit the major points of sailing. It included boat setup, knot tying, rigging, points of sail, nomenclature of the boat, and man overboard drill. We practiced tacking and jibing in the harbor well as open ocean. I feel a new confidence in my sailing ability after our session and if my schedule allows I would love to go out with Max again. The best part of the experience was Max's customer service. In a time when people usually don't care, Max truly did. It was refreshing and enjoyable. A+++++. Thanks again Max, keep in touch and if you need a deckhand let me know, I'm in!

I recently had the total joy of going on a sail led by Captain Max. He was completely accommodating for the birthday-related requests that we had - special playlist, bringing gifts aboard, timing it around sunset for a 30th birthday, flexible with last minute changes to our itinerary (don't do this though, plan a whole day or trip around sailing, it is so worthwhile!) Max puts a lot of work into Jolly Sailing, which shows. He is an expert in his field and has smart, fun answers for any questions you might have about the boat, sailing in general, the Long Beach marina, etc. The boat itself is clean, very well-maintained, and feels like the perfect size for this type of sailing adventure. The memories we made during our time on the water are undoubtedly priceless.
